China has supplied 21,569 oxygen generators to India
Just now, Chinese Ambassador to India Sun Weidong tweeted specific data on China's recent supply of respirators, oxygen machines and other medical equipment to India.
"According to the General Administration of Customs of China, since April this year, China has provided India with more than 5,000 ventilators, 21,569 oxygen machines
, over 21.48 million masks and about 3,800 tons of medicines." Sun Weidong wrote in a tweet.
The day before, Sun Weidong also tweeted that Chinese medical equipment suppliers are working overtime to process orders from India, having received orders for at least 25,000 oxygen machines in recent days. 26 nights ago, he had tweeted that China firmly supports India in its fight against the epidemic. Sun Weidong said, "We will encourage and guide Chinese companies to actively participate in cooperation to facilitate India's access to various needed medical supplies."
India's epidemic has recently shown out-of-control tension, with new cases exceeding 300,000 on a single day for several days, the healthcare system on the verge of collapse, bodies piling up and firewood for crematoriums in short supply. The Indian Express cites internal government assessments that the tsunami will not reach its peak until mid-May, when there will be about 500,000 new cases a day.
